Giovanni Ganelli
Giovanni Ganelli is a senior economist in the IMF’s Research Department. His previous assignments include deputy head of office in the IMF’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP); and mission chief for Samoa and senior desk for Malaysia in the Asia and Pacific Department. He also worked in the Fiscal Affairs, European and Institute for Capacity Development departments of the IMF. During his career he participated in IMF missions to Asia, Africa and Europe. His research focuses on fiscal policy, structural reforms and external sector issues. His papers have been published in several scientific journals, including the Journal of International Economics, Economics Letters, and the Journal of Economic, Dynamics and Control.
Pau Rabanal
Pau Rabanal is a deputy division chief in the Research Department of the IMF, and has been working on the External Sector Report since 2018. He joined the IMF in 2002 and has also worked in the monetary and capital markets, Western Hemisphere, Middle East and Central Asia and Institute for Capacity Development departments of the IMF. His research interests include monetary policy, macro-prudential policies, open economy macroeconomics and the analysis of external vulnerabilities.
Niamh Sheridan
Niamh Sheridan is currently deputy division chief in the External Policy Division in the Strategy, Policy and Review Department (SPR) of the IMF, where she leads the work on all aspects of IMF’s external sector assessments, including the EBA-lite models and reserve adequacy assessments. Since joining the Fund, she has worked on a range of economies (Australia, Estonia, Fiji, Malaysia, Moldova, and Singapore) and as mission chief for Samoa.
